Our Leadership

Dr. Bob Rodgers has served as senior pastor of Evangel World Prayer Center for more than 30 years. He is deeply passionate about prayer and fasting, which he emphasizes as a vital part of the church’s ministry. Under his leadership, Evangel has grown to include as many as nine campuses in Louisville and surrounding areas, providing support for an effective inner-city outreach, and several global initiatives. Many have been led to faith in Christ and into the baptism of the Holy Spirit through his teaching.

When he began his ministry with a 40-day fast, Pastor Bob felt a calling from God to “reach the poor of your city.” He has been obedient to his assignment by establishing The Lord’s Kitchen, an inner-city outreach that feeds more than 50,000 people a month, provides housing for veterans, and helps people recover from drug and alcohol addiction. His ministry has also touched lives around the world, ministering in as many as 47 nations.

Dr. Rodgers is a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary and holds an earned doctorate from Oral Roberts University and is the author of over 60 books including the best seller, The 21 Day Fast. He and his wife, Margaret, have three children and five grandchildren.

Our Purpose

Reach our city and impact our world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our purpose is simple: to share the good news of Jesus Christ. We believe this starts with loving our neighbors while taking the good news of Jesus to every corner of the world.

With many campuses around the Louisville, KY, area and parts of Indiana, we are one church with many locations committed to reaching our cities with the love of Jesus. Our hope is that you’ll find a place to grow in your personal relationship with Christ in a community of believers.

Our Values

Grow in your personal relationship with Christ in a community of believers.

Prayer & Fasting

God’s best for you comes when you seek him with all your heart.
As a church, we firmly believe in the power of prayer and fasting to help us draw near to God to discover His will for us and receive His blessings of healing and prosperity, so we can in turn bless others.

Loving People

People of every race, nation and culture come together to worship our Savior.
We are intentional about building a church that welcomes other nations, bridges racial divides, and treats every person with dignity no matter what.

Generosity & Service

Loving our neighbors requires an outpouring of generosity and service.
We believe the Church is most effective when we help the helpless, forgive the condemned, and love the unlovable, both in our own communities and throughout the world.
